The following policies have been established to help guide you when making decisions regarding your upcoming wedding at The English Inn. Throughout our years of experience, we have found that adherence to these policies makes it possible to offer you the most perfect day imaginable.
Scheduling
Weddings requiring rental of the entire Inn may be scheduled Monday through Sunday during the daytime and Sunday through Thursday evenings. Saturday weddings may be scheduled during the daytime and must conclude by 4:30 p.m. Smaller weddings and receptions are scheduled according to size and availability at the Inn.
As other groups may be using the same areas prior to or following your wedding and reception, please adhere to the times agreed upon. Should your time schedule change, please contact our wedding coordinator as soon as possible. Every effort will be made to accommodate changes in your schedule.
Food & Beverage
All menu planning must be completed within ten days of your up-coming nuptials.
For groups of fifty or more, you may select one entrée choice for your guests. For groups of less than fifty, you may offer your guests a choice of two entrées. Your guaranteed number of each entrée must be submitted to our wedding coordinator at least ten days prior to your scheduled wedding. A place card or some indicator of entrée selection is required if choosing two entrées for your guests.
Vegetarian and special dietary-need entrées are available for your guests. Again these must be pre-ordered from our wedding coordinator ten days prior to your wedding.
All food & beverages must be purchased through The English Inn. Wedding cakes are the only exception.
No food may be removed from the Inn upon completion of your function because of State health regulations. Wedding cakes are the only exception.
Menu prices will not be guaranteed more than sixty days in advance.
General Information
The English Inn is a smoke-free environment. Guests wishing to smoke may do so on the terrace located just outside of the Pub.
When requested on the day of your event, there will be a $50.00 re-set charge for each change to the approved set-up of your wedding,
When children are in attendance, we strongly suggest that a responsible adult supervise them. This is both for the comfort and safety of the children and out of respect for your other guests.
The Devonshire Room has a digital grand piano, which is at your disposal for a fee of $50.00.
The English Inn will adjust the location of your event if your guest counts do not coincide with what fits best to serve all of our guest on any particular day or evening.
Damage
Function sponsors are responsible for the protection of walls, furnishings and carpeting in the dining rooms, both during preparations and continuation of activities. Damage or loss will be billed to the function sponsor. The on-site contact of the wedding reception is responsible for the conduct of all attendees.
Security
The English Inn is not liable for loss, theft or damage to property belonging to wedding participants.
Entertainment/Photographers
Musicians, photographers, etc. will be booked by the person in charge of each event and will be solely their responsibility. We will be happy to assist in making contact arrangements.
All musical entertainment must be pre-approved by the management of The English Inn.
Deposits and Cancellations
At the time of the initial booking, a $500.00 non-refundable deposit is required for weddings of 50 or fewer guests, a $1000.00 non-refundable deposit for 50 or more. Any outstanding balance is due upon completion of your wedding.
Cancellation of the wedding results in forfeiture of all deposits made.
Billing
Billing will be based on the confirmed menu, which is due 10 days prior to your wedding. Within the 10-day period your confirmed order cannot decrease, but if you should find it necessary to increase the number of attendees, you may due so and we will do our best to accommodate the request.
All food and beverages are subject to an 18% service charge and a 6% Michigan tax.
The English Inn does accept VISA, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.
